Warmer weather is finally here and there’s no better place to enjoy it than in Sonoma County’s wine country! Whether you’re planning a weekend getaway or an extended stay at one of our luxury wine country vacation rentals, it’s helpful to know what to bring to ensure you have a comfortable stay. That’s why we’ve created this wine country packing list for you to reference before you leave for your trip!
- Comfortable Clothes
Packing comfy clothes may seem obvious but it’s a must! Afternoon highs in the summertime can reach the mid to high 80s, while evening lows can get down to the 50s, so pack layers! Many of our luxury wine country vacation rentals have a pool and/or hot tub to enjoy during your stay, so don’t forget a swimsuit!
If you’re venturing out on any wine tours (which are highly recommended while you’re in town) then you’ll want to wear comfortable shoes as there’s quite a bit of walking on many uneven paths.
- A Reusable Water Bottle
Summer is our dry season and this region is in and out of droughts and water might only be available by request in many places, so having a reusable water bottle can help you stay hydrated on a hot afternoon.
- Wine Bottle Travel Protective Bag
If you plan to bring a few bottles of wine home with you, having a travel wine bag can make it easier to travel and keep your wine safe and secure. It’s also important to note that many of the local Sonoma County wineries offer shipping.
- Sunscreen
Most winery tours are in the middle of the day when the sun’s rays are the strongest, so packing some much-needed SPF sunscreen is a must! You don’t want to start off your wine country weekend with a sunburn – and don’t forget your SPF lip protectant! Having a light long sleeved top or a wide brim hat will also help.
While these are just a few of the items we suggest packing on your next getaway to Sonoma County’s wine country, our luxury rentals are stocked with everything you need for a comfortable stay! Each rental has clean linens, extra towels, a kitchen stocked with essentials, and much more! Ready to experience Sonoma County’s beautiful wine country this summer?
