Last week, I had the privilege of representing WC Lodging and our community at the Vacation Rental Women’s Summit as part of the Vacation Rental Management Association (VRMA). Walking into a room filled with so many inspiring women leading the way in our industry was both energizing and humbling.
A highlight was celebrating Koryn Okey, who received the Crusader Award, and Jodi Refosco, honored with the Pioneer Award. Their passion and leadership reminded me how much vision and advocacy matter in shaping the future of vacation rentals.
For me, being part of VRMA is about more than staying connected nationally — it’s about bringing that knowledge back home. Every conversation, every new idea, and every advocacy effort has real meaning here in Sonoma County. It helps strengthen our local tourism economy, elevates the guest experience, and supports the homeowners who entrust me with their properties.
I came away from the Summit with a renewed sense of purpose and gratitude — for this community, for the work we get to do, and for the opportunity to make sure our local voice is heard at a national level.
